The Australian delegation will be led by a woman, Friday August 5, during the opening ceremony of the Rio Games. The Olympic committee announced this Wednesday July 6 that it had designated cyclist Anna Meares as standard bearer for a team which should include more than 400 athletes. Originally from Queensland, Anna Meares will take part in her 4th Games in track cycling in Rio. She was Olympic champion in 2004 and 2012.
