An agreement was signed on Tuesday, February 24 in Paris, between the Minister of Sports Patrick Kanner and Isabelle Adenot, the president of the Order of Pharmacists, in order to “optimize” the prevention of doping generated by the taking of certain food supplements . It will make it possible to disseminate “a message of prevention on the use of these products, to support the development of the standard and to provide relevant information to athletes,” explained the French Minister of Sports. Around one in five food supplements contain doping substances, according to official estimates. 15% of these supplements are “contaminated” by anabolic substances.
