The confinement does not prevent Russian athletics from moving forward on the path to a possible return to normality. A commission was created within the federation (RusAF) to work on the conditions for lifting the suspension by World Athletics, decided in November 2015. The site sports.ru revealed its composition. The commission will be headed by Yevgeniy Yurchenko, the new president of RusAF, elected last February. The Ministry of Sports will be represented there by its deputy minister, Odes Baysultanov. The Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) will be represented by Andrey Konokotin and Valeriy Kuvayev. Yuri Ganous, the head of the Russian anti-doping agency (RUSADA) is also part of the commission, as is his deputy, Margarita Pakhnotskaya. Three current or former athletes were also invited: former pole vaulter Yelena Isinbayeva, hurdle specialist Mariya Aglitskaya, and young sprinter Jennifer Akiniymika. Finally, the commission will include a lawyer, RusAF lawyer Irina Lyuboserdova.
