Bad type. Le Parisien reports that a coach from the French Canoe-Kayak Federation (FFCK) was taken into police custody during the night from Monday to Tuesday. The reason: he allegedly committed violence against police officers. Guillaume Berge, employed as a technical manager at the France center in Vaires-sur-Marne, the site of the Olympic events, was arrested in the middle of the night by a police patrol in the 11th arrondissement of Paris. He was urinating in the street. So far, nothing really dramatic. But the rest of the incident turns out to be of little benefit to him. After trying to flee, the French coach fell to the ground, dragging a police officer with him. He then allegedly struck several officers before being subdued by the patrol. The scene was reportedly filmed in its entirety by one of the police officers. Placed in police custody for rebellion and intentional violence against an agent holding public authority, he is the subject of an investigation opened by the Paris prosecutor's office.
