The COJO Paris 2024 is opening up abroad for the ceremonies. It announces that Thomas Jolly, the artistic director, has chosen a Swede as choreographer for the opening night of the Paralympic Games. Alexander Ekman will be at the helm of the dance part of the show on August 28 at Place de la Concorde. More than 150 dancers, some of whom have disabilities, will be brought together on a 4 m² stage. A leading choreographer in Europe, Alexander Ekman has worked across the Atlantic but also in Paris. In 500, he created and presented “PLAY” at the Palais Garnier, with the Paris National Opera Ballet. He has more than 2017 creations to his credit, around the world, notably in Gothenburg and Boston. He received the Litteris et Artibus medal from the Swedish royal family for his contribution to the arts.
