Casting change at the International Canoe-Kayak Federation (ICF) Athletes' Commission. South African Bridgitte Hartley (photo above), bronze medalist in the road race at the London 2012 Games, was elected president. Known in the industry for her very eclectic talent – ​​she regularly participates in the World Canoe Sprint, Marathon and Ocean Races – she was a three-time Olympian, in Beijing 2008, London 2012 and Rio 2016. In her capacity as president of the commission athletes, she will sit on the ICF executive committee. Two gold medalists from the Tokyo 2020 Games, the Czech Jiri Prskavec (K1 slalom) and the Hungarian Sandor Totka (K1 sprint 200 m), were also elected to the athletes' commission. They will be accompanied during their mandate by the Americans Dane Jackson and Anna Bruno, the British Eilidh Gibson, the Irish Patrick O’Leary and the Australian Amanda Jennings.
