Her name is only known to specialists, but Georgian Nino Salukvadze could well make Olympic history at the Tokyo 2020 Games. This shooting specialist, already a three-time Olympic medalist (gold and silver in Seoul 1988, bronze in Beijing 2008), has every chance of becoming the first woman in history to participate in 9 editions of the Games. Aged 50, she has just won an Olympic quota by taking 5th place in the 10m air pistol during a World Cup stage in Beijing. At the 2016 Rio Games, she became the first mother to compete with her son. Among the men, the participation record belongs to Canadian rider Ian Millar, present at the Games 10 times between Munich 1972 and London 2012.
