The International Baseball and Softball Federation (WBSC) is strengthening its calendar. She announces the creation this year of a new continental baseball event, a women's European championship. Its first edition will be played in July 2019 in the French city of Rouen, where the best French club, the Huskies, plays. It will pit France, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic against each other. The European Championship will now be organized every year before the World Cup. The winning country will automatically earn its selection for the Women's Baseball World Cup, the next edition of which is scheduled to take place in 2020.
