A new lease for Zena Wooldridge (photo above, seated in the centre). The British woman was re-elected on Saturday 14 December for a second term as president of the International Squash Federation (World Squash). She was the only candidate. The election was organised during the 54th annual general assembly of the body, in Hong Kong, on the sidelines of the world team championships. Suspense, however, for the two vice-president positions left vacant by the departures of the Egyptian Karim Darwish and the Colombian Pablo Serna. Five candidates were in the running. The two elected, the Hong Konger David Mui and the American Marshall Pagon will join two other vice-presidents, Susan Devoy (New Zealand) and Debendranath Sarangi (India), on the executive committee. Zena Wooldridge will preside over World Squash at the Los Angeles 2028 Games, where the discipline will make its debut in the Olympic programme as an additional sport.
