World Taekwondo achieves carbon neutrality

World Taekwondo's efforts have paid off. The international federation has reached the carbon neutrality by 2024As recently certified by the specialized organization One Carbon World, World Taekwondo's carbon footprint from January 1st to December 31st, 2024, was estimated at 562,92 tonnes of CO2 equivalent. 23% less compared to 2022.

The analysis showed that over 70% of emissions were linked to air travelHotel stays (7%) and printing services (4%) are the other largest sources of emissions. World Taekwondo has managed to significantly reduce its footprint in limiting travelThe FI also supports the project "Reducing GHG emissions: preserving the ozone layer", which captures and transforms hydrofluorocarbon gases, in order to offset its emissions.
