Li Quanhai (pictured above), president of the International Sailing Federation (World Sailing), makes no secret of the fact that the Olympic and Paralympic Games are high on the agenda for his new term, his second in a row after his first election in 2020. The Chinese leader explained this to the agency Xinhua : he intends to campaign for the return of sailing to the Paralympic Games programme, at the earliest in Brisbane in 2032. Li Quanhai also wants to attract a new audience for sailing competitions, counting on the impact of the Olympic Games. To do this, he says he is ready to modify the programme of events and boat classes, to consider new formats. The Chinese was re-elected in mid-November for a new four-year term as president of World Sailing, at the body's general assembly in Singapore. With 55 votes in the first round of voting, he beat his two rivals for the presidency, the Belgian Philippe Rogge (29 votes), son of the former IOC president, and the Ukrainian Rodion Luka (2 voices).
