World Lacrosse adds two seats to the table. The International Federation (IF) has officially welcomed the United Arab Emirates and Tanzania as members. World Lacrosse now has 97 members, including 23 affiliated with the Asia-Pacific region and 16 with Africa.

« We are delighted to welcome the United Arab Emirates and Tanzania into our family, in two rapidly expanding regions which are the Middle East and East Africa, says TJ Buchanan, sporting director of World Lacrosse. I would like to thank the Asia-Pacific Lacrosse Union and the African Lacrosse Association, as well as their governing bodies, for their work in promoting the sport in new communities, and I hope that these new members will open opportunities for international competition in these regions. »

Tanzania is the first new member of the African Association since October 2023. Further evidence of the acceleration in this region: the first African lacrosse championship is planned for the end of 2026, as part of the Olympic qualification process.
