La Armenian Wheelchair Curling Federation joined World Curling. It is integrated with the associate member status. She was founded in 2022 by Arshak Oganesyan Sisakovich, who began practicing after having both legs amputated. Losing my legs hasn't taken away my dream. Today, I want all disabled people in Armenia to know that they have the opportunity to get on the ice, experience team spirit, and taste victory. Wheelchair curling is a way to break out of isolation and to lead an active life " he emphasizes.

The federation currently has a team of ten people who train at a local ice rink. In November, they participated in their first international event in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Associate membership was approved at the last World Curling Congress to allow more specialized member associations to join the organization anduse available resources to develop and participate in international competitions " says World Curling president Beau Welling, happy to welcome a new member.
