Originally planned for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the World Climbing General Assembly The meeting was ultimately held online due to tensions in the Middle East. 105 delegates, representing 72 national federations from around the world, participated. It made a major decision: to hold a Extraordinary general meeting in JulyIt will be dedicated to geopolitical issues and to the challenges posed by the international context.
The Assembly also approved the Executive Committee's proposals to integrate four new member federationsrepresenting Albania, Liechtenstein, Malta and Uruguay. The next General Assembly is scheduled to be held in person in Saudi Arabia in April 2027.
