A tough blow for breaking. Present at the Paris 2024 Games as an additional sport, but not selected for Los Angeles 2028, the discipline will not be able to distribute its world titles this year. The World Dance Sport Federation (WDSF) has announced the cancellation of the 2024 World Championship, initially scheduled for November 8 and 9 in Houston, Texas. The reason remains vague, the local organizer – Break Free Worldwide – having informed the WDSF of its inability to meet its commitments "due to unforeseen circumstances". The international body explains "explore other options » to possibly reschedule the event to a new date and in a different location. No worries, however, for the youth world championship. It is still scheduled for September 28 and 29 in Wuxi, China. As a reminder, breaking is on the program of the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar. The qualification process will begin next year.
