Gennadiy Golovkin, President of the Kazakhstan National Olympic Committee and the World Boxing Olympic Committee, held a meeting with Refract Technologies, a Singaporean company specializing in immersive technologies and artificial intelligence solutions. Refract Technologies presented its flagship innovation, AXIS, a complete motion capture system designed for virtual environments. Already used in international virtual taekwondo competitions, this technology was demonstrated through simulated taekwondo and boxing matches.
The company has expressed interest in a collaboration with World Boxing as part of a pilot project aimed at develop virtual boxingThe AXIS system provides precise motion tracking that enables realistic perception of distance and interaction with opponents. These features contribute to a safe and engaging sporting experience, particularly interesting for young people and beginners ", underlines the Olympic Council of Asia in its debriefing. Refract Technologies also explores the inclusion of virtual boxing in the eSports Olympics in 2027.
