World Boxing is setting up a permanent ethics committee

Boxing

World Boxing is further strengthening its governance. At an extraordinary congress, member federations approved a series of measures to this effect. They validated the establishment of a permanent ethics committee replacing the former provisional body. They also approved its composition: the committee will be chaired by Margot Fosteralongside Norihide Ishido and Daniel Pitt – appointed by the athletes' commission – as well as Kirsty Burrows, an independent member.

Congress also approved the appointment of Nexio Fiduciaire SA as auditors for the 2025 accounts. These decisions mark " an important step for our future " explains President Gennadiy Golovkin. We must make decisions that follow the recommendations from the ASOIF governance review and that support our recognition by the IOC. This is essential for create a strong and trustworthy international federation. »

These decisions strengthen the independent oversight and financial governance structures that World Boxing has put in place over the past few months. In November, new measures will be submitted to members at the Congress, including the establishment of a Charter of Athletes' Rights.
