It's time to polish your CV and cover letter. World Athletics has officially opened the application process for 2029 and 2031 World Athletics Championships. Federations interested in organizing one of these editions must express their interest before October 1st. Potential candidates will have the opportunity to participate in the observation program planned for September in Tokyo, to get a clearer idea of what awaits them by talking to World Athletics and the local organizing committee. London has already publicly expressed his interest in 2029. Europe will inevitably have its card to play since the 2025 and 2027 editions will take place in Asia. North America could also be in the game since it has not hosted the World Championships since Eugene in 2022.
