The die is cast. FIFA has received only one bid to host the 2031 Women's World Cup The United States, Mexico, Costa Rica, and Jamaica want to team up to host the tournament. Unsurprisingly, the USA would take the lion's share. Fourteen American stadiums are listed in the application dossier.in the following cities: Atlanta, Charlotte, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Nashville, New York, Orlando, San Diego, Seattle and Washington.
Mexico, which will also host matches for the 2026 World Cup, is highlighting Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey, and Torreon. Costa Rica is counting on its national stadium in San José, and Jamaica on Kingston's national stadium, which will be renovated next year to reach a capacity of 38.000 seats. Only one application has also been submitted for the 2035 edition, by England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and WalesPotential host cities include Birmingham, Brighton, Bristol, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham, and Sunderland for England; Belfast for Northern Ireland; Edinburgh and Glasgow for Scotland; and Cardiff for Wales. The Women's World Cup would thus make its grand return to Europe, sixteen years after the 2019 edition in France.
FIFA will now evaluate the two applications. If the bids meet the organizational requirements, the host countries will be selected by a vote at the 76th FIFA Congress, scheduled for April 30, 2026 in Vancouver " the body specifies.
