The Piotr Nurowski Prize, awarded to the best young european athlete, was awarded this weekend to Viviana Marton. She became Olympic taekwondo champion at just 18 years old, in the under 67 kilo category, last summer in Paris. The Hungarian received 57,14% of the votes at the 54th general assembly of European Olympic Committees (EOC) in Frankfurt. Italian gymnast Manila Esposito and French table tennis player Félix Lebrun finished joint second. Lithuanian Dominika Banevic and German Helen Kevric finished fourth and fifth respectively. All five athletes will receive a bonus to continue their high-level career. Viviana Marton will be entitled to the sum of 15.000 euros,Manila Esposito and Félix Lebrun will both receive 8.000 euros, while Dominika Banevic and Helen Kevric will receive 3.000 euros.
