Modern pentathlon will be presented in a new light in Los Angeles. For the first time, equestrian events will give way to a ninja-style obstacle courseThe International Union of Modern Pentathlon (UIPM) commissioned a survey of the Australian public to measure the interest generated by this development. It reveals that 35% of Generation Z (born in 2000 and after) and 34% of Generation Y (born between 1982 and 1999) would more inclined to watch the Olympic Games on television or via streaming with an obstacle course.
Ninja Warrior has popularized this type of competition internationally, and this survey confirms the public's appetite. More than half of the young adults surveyed (54% of Generation Z; 48% of Generation Y) say they watch... programs dedicated to obstacle course racing on a regular or occasional basis. A very interesting signal for the UIPM in terms of audience, especially in the context of the Brisbane 2032 Games.
