Gravel World Championships relocated to the Netherlands

Cycling

In February, the UCI announced that the Gravel World Championships, planned in Nice, would ultimately be organized elsewhere, citing " different constraints, techniques and schedules " The authority has found a new base: the region of South Limburg, Netherlands, will host the event on October 11 and 12. The cities of Maastricht, Beek and Beekdaelen will be closely associated with the project. "By hosting the UCI Gravel World Championships, the province of Limburg further strengthens its status as leading cycling territory at the international level, while contributing to the development of gravel, a still young discipline which has a quite considerable development potential », declared UCI President David Lappartient. Gravel will experience the fourth edition of its UCI World Championships here. Last year, Mathieu van der Poel and Marianne Vos had established themselves in Belgium.
