Two new faces on the Australian Olympic Committee's board

Australia

The Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) held its Annual General Meeting this weekend. As expected, Ian Chesterman was re-elected president of the body, who had no opponent. The two vice-president seats also remain in the names of Matt Allen and Evelyn Halls. On the other hand, Olympic swimming champion Susie O'Neill and the president of the Australian Cycling Federation, Craig Bingham, make their entrance to the executive office, where they will sit alongside Alisa Camplin-Warner, Craig Carracher, Kitty Chiller, Michael Murphy, Elizabeth Scott, Jess Fox and Brodie Summers.

“We were lucky to have 13 strong candidates for the office and I thank all the candidates for being involved in this process and offering their commitment to contribute to the Olympic Movement, said Ian Chesterman, highlighting Susie O'Neill's experience in the courts, as well as Craig Bingham's business acumen, which is useful in finding new sources of funding. We have the opportunity to use the next seven years until Brisbane 2032 to create a stronger Olympic Movement, so that the AOC and Olympic sports come out of Brisbane 2032 better than ever »
