Turin 2025 has launched the torch relay

FISU

The next edition of the FISU Winter World University Games, scheduled for January 2025 in Turin, Italy, took on a more concrete form at the end of last week with the start of the torch relay. Having left Turin on 20 September, the torch arrived three days later in Brussels, at the European Parliament, on the occasion of the opening of the European Week of Sport. The relay route is organised in three phases: international, national and Piedmontese. The first phase will see the flame of the Winter World University Games travel, after Brussels, to the Moroccan city of Rabat (26 and 27 September). It will then return to Italy, before heading to New York on 14 October to take part in the Columbus Day parade. The next stage will take it to Lausanne, the Olympic capital, where FISU is headquartered (22 October). The relay will continue in Italy, with stops in Trento, Milan, Caivano and Salerno, before travelling through Piedmont in November and December. The flame will return to Turin on 13 January 2025, the day of the opening ceremony of the Winter World University Games.
