The International Shooting Sport Federation is changing its approach. Following a recommendation from its commission, the ISSF has confirmed that it is considering reintroduce barrage fire in rifle shooting competitions. This barrier would take place in case of a tie for qualification to the final and to assign the starting numbers in the final.
The relevant committee believes that this measure will allow strengthen fairness and transparency that holds the top spot. " The ISSF's management and sports department are currently working on implementing the technical and procedural measures necessary to carry out this change. " explains the ISSF, which works closely with its partners responsible for results, timing and scoring.
Once the detailed procedures have been confirmed, they will be presented to the ISSF Executive Committee for final approval. If agreed, this system could be implemented starting from the Junior World Championshipwhich will take place from June 16 to 26.
