Ximena Restrepo, Senior Vice President of World Athletics, was elected for two years, for the simple reason that she is taking over the seat left vacant by President Ingmar De Vos, which he was supposed to occupy until 2027. Mohammed Jalood (President of the IWF), Thomas Konietzko (President of the ICF) and Marco Scolaris (President of the IFSC) were also candidates.
