Three artists selected for post-2024 Olympics works at Paris airports

Paris Aéroport has launched a competition, in partnership with the arts center Le 104, to create pieces of art from materials used during the Games of Paris 2024The winners are now known. Delphine Dénéréaz and Raphaël Mougel will team up to create the work that will be installed in Orly Airport. The first is a lirette specialist, "a traditional technique from the Middle Ages" with which she "reinvents tapestry". Raphaël Mougel, himself, founded an architecture studio "specializing in the reuse of construction materials in Marseille. His work takes shape around architecture, design and craft projects », explains Le 104.

François Toison (pictured) will be responsible for the artwork at Charles-de-Gaulle Airport. This artist "develops a practice at the crossroads of painting, sculpture and installation », exploring “the diversion and shifts in meaning, particularly in public spaces”. Each project has a budget of 40.000 eurosThe works must be installed on site in October.

“We discussed the works, the production, the message and even the recycling of materials.”, says Raphael FT, member of the jury. The art influencer, who has almost a million followers between Instagram and TikTok, promises “two magnificent and poetic projects”, the outlines of which will be revealed soon.
