The UIPM organized its First World Obstacle Course Championships in Beijing last weekend. President Rob Stull was effusive in his praise after the competition. I couldn't be more pleased with the success of our first World Show Jumping Championshipshe confided on the website of the institution. The efforts of everyone involved, from organizers to athletes, have allowed our community to live a memorable and historic experience in Beijing. China has set the bar very highand this event will remain in our memories until the return of the championship in 2026, which promises to be even bigger and more prestigious in the UIPM calendar. »
The UIPM's obstacle working group met after the World Championships, also drawing up a positive assessment of this first edition. Its members discussed potential improvements, including the addition of longer routes and younger age groups. This meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss the next steps in the full integration of the obstacle under the umbrella of the UIPM. In this context, a congress of the International Obstacle Sports Federation (FISO) could be convened in early 2026 so that national federations can vote on the dissolution of the organization.
