The Iranian National Olympic Committee postpones its elective General Assembly

The General Assembly of the Iranian National Olympic Committee decided to postpone the next elective General AssemblyThe Secretary General of the NOC, Mahdi Alinejad, informed the Olympic Council of Asia by letter. This elective General Assembly will be held in December 2026 or early January 2027That is, four months later than planned. It was also decided to extend the next term by two years.

« This postponement aims to to ensure greater organizational stabilityto improve alignment with national and international sporting calendars and to allow for more efficient planning and management of the committee's electoral and executive processes " explains the NOC. The OCA also specifies that this decision was motivated by the busy schedule of the Iranian NOC from September with the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, the Youth Olympic Games in Dakar and the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games.
