La Azerbaijan Karate Federation (AKF) officially joined the World Karate Federation (WKF). Until now, the country had around twenty karate federations, representing different disciplines. Now unified, with Ulvi Guliyev as president of the AKF, Azerbaijani karate can look forward to new prospects for development on the international scene. The WKF includes 54 members in Europe, the most represented continent ahead of Africa (50), Asia (44), America (39) and Oceania (13). The FI has 200 federations members in total.
