The International Federation of Climbing (IFSC) has announced that Santiago to host World Cup stage next year, from October 23 to 25, 2026. The event will include difficulty and speed competitions. It will mark the first-ever Climbing World Cup held in Chile, and only the second in the history of South AmericaEarlier this year, Curitiba, Brazil, made history by hosting the continent's first World Cup, with a bouldering event in May 2025.
In October 2023, Santiago had already hosted the Pan American Games, where climbing was on the program. A few months later, in March 2024, the Chilean capital also organized the XXI General Assembly of the IFSC, thus consolidating its position for the global climbing community.
