International Table Tennis Federation President Petra Sörling and Executive Director Steve Dainton were in Shanghai last week. The duo took the opportunity to visit the ITTF museum, in the presence of Honorary President Xu Yinsheng. The Paris 2024 torch was officially added to the museum's collection on this occasion. This is obvious given that table tennis has experienced a phenomenal success, never seen before, during the Parisian fortnight.
« The ITTF Museum preserves the shared history of our sport. The addition of the Paris 2024 torch is a powerful symbol of our growing legacy, and this takes on special significance as the ITTF celebrates its centenary next year ", emphasizes Petra Sörling. This visit also provided an opportunity to discuss future operations so that the museum, which opened in 2018, " continues to thrive and better serve fans, players, researchers and the wider table tennis community ».
