The Lebrun brothers' outfits will end up in the museum

Paris 2024

The Olympic year is not quite over yet, but the Musée national du sport has already announced the addition to its collection of a slew of objects inherited from the Paris 2024 Games. The establishment located in Nice, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, received this week a delivery of 300 items directly from the COJO premises. Among them, a large batch of ceremonial outfits and torches, a cauldron, the Olympic flag, the Phryges, and many objects from the competitions. This donation, with a total volume of 50 m³, was stored by the Museum's teams in a new reserve, specially designed for this unprecedented collection. Before considering a dedicated exhibition, its contents will be analyzed, inventoried and possibly restored in order to ensure perfect traceability and conservation. French athletes were asked before, during and after the Games to bequeath their outfits or equipment. Many responded favorably. The Lebrun brothers, Felix and Alexis, bronze medallists in table tennis, have donated their Olympic outfits to the National Sports Museum.
