The International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) is taking action. Following the accusations made, among others, by the presidential candidate of the European Shooting Confederation (ESC) Karoliina Nissinen, defeated by incumbent President Alexander RatnerThe ISSF's Integrity Unit met on Friday, December 12, to review the reports it had received. It decided to act on them sinceAn independent investigative body will be appointed shortly. in order to investigate the alleged violations of the ISSF code of integrity which took place during the ESC general assembly in Yerevan (Armenia) at the end of October 25.
The Integrity Council will now launch a call for applications from qualified experts to conduct the investigation. If it is found that there has been a violation of the Code of Integrity, the judicial body will convene a panel of three members without conflicts of interest to rule on the case based on the investigation report provided by the investigating body., specifies the ISSF in his press release. The independent judicial body will also be responsible for applying any sanctions. »
According to internal ISSF sources, Alexander Ratner has been asked to step down from his duties during the investigation to protect the integrity of the sport. The ESC has not, however, commented on the matter.
