In the World Triathlon family, we're calling for… duathlon! The discipline will be on the program for the Karlsruhe World Games 2029This is very good news for the International Federation, which is committed to developing on several fronts. The duathlon, which combines running and cycling, was already at the Birmingham 2022 and Chengdu 2025 World Games.
« We are extremely proud to continue our excellent collaboration with the World Games and to see duathlon confirmed once again for Karlsruhe 2029., comments Antonio Arimany, president of World Triathlon. The World Games offer our athletes a unique platform to gain visibility, compete in a truly world-class multi-sport environment and take part in one of the major sporting events on the international calendar. For duathlon, this is a fantastic opportunity to to highlight the strength, diversity and dynamism of our sport to new audiences worldwide. »
« We are grateful to the International Association of World Games and the Karlsruhe 2029 Organising Committee, as well as the German federation, for their continued commitment to duathlon and for their collaboration with us in providing these outstanding opportunities for athletes. We look forward to to continue the momentum of the successes achieved in Chengdu and Birmingham and to make Karlsruhe a new and memorable chapter for our athletes and our sport " Arimany concluded.
