The International Padel Federation (FIP) has made official its partnership with the International Agency for Testing (ITA) to ensure its commitment to clean sport. The ITA will now assume full responsibility for the FIP anti-doping program, in all areas, in accordance with the World Anti-Doping Code. The agency will conduct targeted controls, in-competition and out-of-competition, and will take care of the athletes' biological passport and therapeutic use exemptions (TUEs). It will also set up a awareness program for athletes and those around them.
"We are committed to a clean sport and to defending the values of social connection and sharing that make padel a truly special and unique sport, especially considering how quickly it has spread across the world, underlines the president of the FIP, Luigi Carraro. The agreement with the ITA is based on the principles inspired by the Olympic Charter and on a deep respect for the rules of sport. The ITA's commitment, alongside the FIP, represents a decisive step towards the future of padel and constitutes a solid guarantee for its continued growth." The ITA collaborates with more than 70 international federations including World Aquatics, the International Cycling Union, the International Judo Federation, FIBA and FIVB
