On Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games These Games will offer certain disciplines the opportunity to establish a more concrete presence on the African continent. This is the case for equestrian sports, which have a limited presence at the highest level in Africa. Ibrahima Wade, general coordinator of the Organizing Committee for the Youth Olympic Games (COJOJ), as well as president of the Senegalese Equestrian Sports Federation and the African Equestrian Sports Confederation, sees these Games as a golden opportunity.

Dakar 2026 has the potential to to advance equestrian sports across the African continentwhether it's increasing participation, improving infrastructure, strengthening national federations, or developing training and development programs, he emphasizes on the FEI website. For Senegal, this is a unique opportunity to demonstrate our capacity to host high-level equestrian competitions. And for Africa, it marks the beginning of a much stronger presence in international sport. »

Dakar will be able to make its mark by hosting the FEI Jumping World Challenge final at the end of the month, from November 25th to 30th. The competition will take place at new equestrian center in Diamniadio30 kilometers east of the capital. These facilities were designed for meet international standards in terms of safety, performance and durability, assures Ibrahima Wade. The equestrian competitions will take place in an exceptional venue that reflects our vision for Dakar 2026Beyond the Games, this site will remain the permanent home of equestrian sports in Senegal, a legacy that will benefit generations of young riders in the region and beyond. »
