The African office will remain in Cape Town

WADA

No change for the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). It announced in a press release that it had renewed its lease with the South African authorities for its Africa office in Cape Town. Launched in April 2023, this continental branch of the agency notably ensures liaison with public authorities and regional sports organizations. The system is supplemented by the three other WADA regional offices, located in Lausanne, Montevideo and Tokyo. For Africa, a call for expressions of interest was launched to possibly move the office elsewhere on the continent. South Africa (Cape Town), Egypt (Cairo) and Morocco (Rabat) responded with a detailed proposal. After a long evaluation process, it was decided to continue discussions only with South Africa.
