This is perhaps the most significant moment of the centenary of the International Table Tennis Federation On Sunday, the ITTF member associations, meeting at their General Assembly, officially adopted the new constitution of the body. These new statutes " provide table tennis with the governance framework it needs to enter its second century " underlines the ITTF, which conducted a broad consultation to involve the table tennis family in this process.
« The voting process is fairer. The Council is more representativeThe integrity framework is clearer. The voice of athletes is given more consideration.(…) Athletes are not simply guests within this Federation. They are its heart. The new Constitution reflects this.the executive office insisted before the vote. The members shaped the text: 92% of the contributions were incorporated, in whole or in part. And when serious concerns were raised, the draft evolved. Provisions questioned by members were reviewed. Those supported by members were strengthened. This is, in every sense of the word, a Constitution developed by the table tennis family, for the table tennis family. »
