It was created in 2021 to pay tribute to the legendary cross-country race of the 1912 Olympic GamesSeveral distances are offered to the public: 10 km and 5,5 km for adults, 3 km and 1,6 km for children. A 400-meter course is also available for younger children within the Olympic stadium.

« The 1912 cross-country race was a true test for the runners, both physically and mentally. Those who lined up at the starting line on July 15, 1912, knew nothing of the route kept secret until D-DayThe terrain proved more difficult than expected and the distance longer than announced, probably around 12 km instead of the promised 8 km. Red flags marked the route at Lill-Jansskogen, but in the heat and confusion, several participants got lost. This race became legendary, not only for the performance of the runners, but also for the suspense, the heat, the chaos and the fierce determination to cross the finish line " recalls the Swedish Olympic Committee (SOK). Several hundred participants took part in 2025.
