The Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games will be entirely privately funded. Search for partners is therefore a particularly decisive issue for OCOG. The trend is however positive according to John Slusher, executive director of commercial operations at LA28. "I wouldn't be surprised if we do three or four times more contracts sponsorship this year, in dollar terms, than last year", he slips into Los Angeles Times. For Sarah Hirshland, CEO of the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee, the post-Paris 2024 period is extremely promising in business matters. "The success of the Paris Games and the positive momentum that followed created an incredible energy and a much stronger willingness to commit to Milan-Cortina than that which existed after Tokyo for the Beijing 2022 Games", she assures. The OCOG of Los Angeles 2028 could thus be close to $2 billion partnership by year-end. John Slusher hopes to formalize several contracts very soon. "I think we will know a lot more in three months"he said.
