
World Curling presented its ICE 2034 environmental sustainability strategy, aligned with eight of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development GoalsThe federation sets specific objectives for 2025, 2026, 2027 and 2028 with a view to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030 and achieve neutrality by 2040. From 2026, it plans to work with local organizing committees to eliminate single-use plastic, and collaborate with research institutes to identify opportunities for reduce the ecological footprint of curling equipmentIt will also look at snowmaking, infrastructure (through site insulation, temperature control, etc.), the competition calendar and education.
