Seven prominent figures have joined the board of directors of the International Paralympic Committee following a virtual Extraordinary General Meeting. The elected members are Debra Alexander, Chelsey Gotell, Fernando Riaño, Mohamed Duaij Alkhalifa, Robyn Smith, Miki Matheson and Bradley Snyder.
The board is now complete with, in addition to these seven new members, Andrew Parsons, Leila Marques Mota, John Petersson, as well as Vladyslava Kravchenko, chair of the IPC Athletes' Council, and Josh Dueck, first vice-president. All IPC board members elected in 2025 will serve a four-year term until the 24th IPC General Assembly, which will be held at the end of 2029.
« We now have a board of directors composed of 12 members who, thanks to their diversity and experience, will bring a considerable force to advance the Paralympic Movement over the next four years"says IPC President Andrew Parsons. The board of directors includes six men and six womenand all five regions are represented. It includes eight Paralympic and Para-athletes, meaning that the athletes' perspective will continue to be taken into account in all council matters and decisions. »
