Serena Williams and Carmelo Anthony shortlisted for Hall of Fame

The United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) has unveiled a preselection of 42 personalities to form the 2025 class of its Hall of Fame. Fifteen Olympians are part of it, but only five will be elected. At the top of the list, tennis legend Serena Williams, NBA star Carmelo Anthony, seven-time Olympic track and field champion Allyson Felix and former decathlon world record holder Ashton Eaton. Kristin Armstrong (cycling), Bode Miller (skiing), Kayla Harrison (judo), Cammi Granato (ice hockey), Conn Findlay (rowing/sailing), Gabby Douglas (gymnastics), Sue Bird (basketball), John Smith (wrestling), Dawn Staley (basketball), and Mariel Zagunis (fencing) are also nominated.

Nine Paralympians, three Olympic teams, three Paralympic teams, six legends, three coaches and three special contributors complete this pre-selection. The public can vote online until April 14Athletes, the USOPC Executive Board, and members of the media will also vote in several of these categories. At the end of the process, five Olympians, three Paralympians, one Olympic team, one Paralympic team, one legend, one coach, and one special contributor will be inducted into the Hall of Fame. The Class of 2025 will be announced on May 6.
