After welcoming some of the Paris 2024 athletes, the city of Saint-Ouen is also eyeing the 2030 Winter Games. The municipality is in fact owner of a holiday center in Montgenèvre (Hautes-Alpes), a resort expected to host events. The mayor of Audon, Karim Bouamrane, has the idea of using this building for receive athletes or members of their staff in 2030, and make Saint-Ouen "the first city in the history of France to host the Summer Olympics and then the Winter Olympics".This holiday center can currently accommodate a hundred people and has been the subject of significant work in recent years. “I am confident because it is in the top 3 best located sites in the region. I am convinced that it will play a major role, insists Karim Bouamrane to our colleagues at Le Parisien. The idea is toincrease its reception capacity by at least 50%, make it more comfortable, accessible to people with reduced mobility. And also open it to seniors, sports associations in their preparation phases and to seminars." The elected official has meeting on April 15 with the Minister of Sports, Marie Barsacq, to discuss his project.
