The IOC has updated the list of neutral individual athletes eligible for the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympic Games. Three were already registered: two Russians – Petr Gumennik and Adeliia Petrosian – and Viktoriya Safonova of Belarus, all figure skaters. The Neutral Individual Athlete Review Board (AINERP) has given its approval to a fourth athlete: Nikita Filippov.
The 23-year-old Russian will compete his first Olympic Games and will compete in ski mountaineering. The participation of these athletes is based on the same conditions as in Paris 2024including the signing of a commitment to respect the Olympic Charter and the absence of support for the war or the Russian or Belarusian army.
