The World Taekwondo Championships will take place in Wuxi, from October 24 to 30China is hosting the World Championships for the second time, 18 years after Beijing, and World Taekwondo has announced a record participation with 991 athletes registered, compared to 970 in Muju in 2017. Five Olympic champions for Paris 2024 will be in the running: Firas Katousi, Arian Salimi, Yu-jin Kim, Viviana Marton and Althéa Laurin. World Taekwondo will bring together its General meeting on October 23, on the eve of the opening of the competition. The only candidate, Chungwon Choue, will be re-elected for a new term as president. Six candidates are running for the three vice-presidential positions.
