The General Assembly of the Association of International Sports Federations Recognized by the IOC (ARISF) held elections for its new executive board in Lausanne. Raffaele Chiulli, president of the International Powerboating Union, is re-elected as presidentJohn Liljelund, general secretary of the International Floorball Federation, was elected vice-president. Riccardo Fraccari, president of the World Baseball/Softball Confederation, was appointed general secretary.
Three individuals were also elected as members of the board: Zena Wooldridge, President of World SquashRobert Rauch, president of the International Flying Discus Federation, and Anna Arzhanova, president of the International Underwater Sports Federation. In a statement, Zena Woolridge praised the significant progress » produced by ARISF for support the FI over the past 18 months: I look forward to working with my colleagues on the executive committee and with representatives from other international federations in order to to ensure that ARISF can have greater relevance and greater influence and a greater impact in the coming years, in the interest of our sports. »
