Queensland launches public consultation on 2032 Olympic legacy

“What Does 2032 Mean for You?” » The Crisafulli Government is inviting Queenslanders to have their say on the sporting legacy of the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games through a consultation that takes up the title of this question. Citizens can participate online or by a written form. The resulting report will serve as the basis for " a new 10-year strategy " which will determine " future investments, with a focus on maximizing the benefits of Brisbane 2032 for the whole of Queensland ", underlines the government press release.

Tim Mander, Minister for Sport, Racing, the Olympic and Paralympic Games, explained the importance of this initiative: “Hosting the 2032 Games will not only allow us to deliver an exceptional event, but also to build a legacy that will make our state the undeniable home of Australian sport. We will leave a legacy that will go far beyond the 2032 GamesWe want to know the community's opinion on the difficulties they encounter in being active, on how tohelp community sport thrive, to encourage more volunteers and ease cost pressures." The consultation will last until June 15 and an adapted strategy will be presented by the end of the year.
