North Koreans are not joking about the risks linked to the coronavirus epidemic. They decided to simply cancel the 2020 edition of the Pyongyang Marathon, one of the major events on the sporting calendar in North Korea, one of the rare mass events open to foreigners. The race was to take place on April 12 in the streets of the capital. A thousand foreign competitors were allowed to start last year. The 2020 edition was also to offer a half marathon, a 10 km and a 5 km. The event is not postponed, it is canceled for this year. To date, North Korea has not announced a single case of coronavirus.
